Late payment fee for membership?

Post by Rob Thompson » Thu Aug 02, 2012 1:48 pm

So I was talking to my local league treasurer, who was under the impression that there was some kind of extra fee for late payment of membership. However, I cannot recall any such aspect to the scheme. Hence I have three questions;

1) Is there any such fee for late payment?
2) Would payment for membership in November, for example, retroactively cover game fee for games played in October?

I have one question: What happened to question three?

There's no 'late' payment fee as such - but you don't get the £1 early payment discount. Is that what your guy meant?

Yes.

I managed to answer question 3 for myself, but forgot to take it out of the original post :oops:

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

Our chief weapon is suprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again. (Exit and exeunt)

What early payment discount?

I know there is a discount for joining online but I wasn't aware of any discount for joining early unless you mean the 14 months for the price of 12 offer which is only a discount if you are not already a member.

Don't MOs have some scheme where they can collect £ 13 from individuals and just pay £ 12 to the ECF? This applies only if they make payment before 1st November (?). Alternatively they just collect £ 12 from individuals and do the admin for nothing.

I don't know.

My local league has decided not to bother becoming a MO. (For completeness it has decided that no-one can play more than 3 games without being an ECF member.)
