Championship leaders after round six:

Gawain Jones 5.5/6, Stephen Gordon & David Howell 5, Keith Arkell & Jonathan Hawkins 4.5. Jovanka Houska is the highest placed woman on 4.

The accelerated pairings led to a number of early clashes between the top players. In round three Gawain Jones beat Keith Arkell whilst David Howell defeated Jonathan Hawkins whilst in round four Gawain beat Stephen Gordon and David drew with Danny Gormally. In round six Gawain beat Matthew Turner to retain his half point lead and faces David Howell in round seven.

Notable junior results included James Holland with wins against Jovanka Houska and David Eggleston and draws with Danny Gormally and Gawain Jones, James Adair drawing with black against David Howell and then beating IM Dietmar Kolbus from Germany and Marcus Harvey beating Danny Gormally. Radha Jain beat both Graham Oswald (rated 310 points above her) and Don Mason (rated 376 points above her).

James Holland has a 2567 performance, Marcus Harvey has a 2392 performance and James Jackson 2468. All three have four points. Marcus Osborne is performing at 2450 and Dominic Mackle 2424 on 3.5, Peter Bachelor 2299, William Foo 2254 and Radha Jain 2150 on 3.
