What about d3 in this position, it may allow some Qc5+ in the near future

White could have forced a perpetual after 30...Ba6, starting with 31. Ne6 (the remainder left as an exercise for the reader).

After 31. Be4 Black has 31...Rc1+ and it's even more confusing. Evaluation is +1 for Black, for what it's worth.

Why have all of the english players all decided on the same day to go gungho - I will need some new pants at this rate. Not sure what is happening in any of the games as very double edged.

32...d3 loses. 32...Rf1+ kept an advantage - no discovered attack on the rook after Ne6.

Can anyone tell me what ...d2 was all about? I thought ...Qc5+ left Black OKish

Edit. OK, g5 should do it

Why did David play 34. ... d2, surely 34. ... Qc5+, swapping off the queens was better?

Edit: OK 35. Qxc5 bxc5 36. g5 looks grim.

Maybe we should play Gawain on board one next time can't believe Micky took the easy road out with the early draw after his win against Magnus yesterday. But Sai la vie
