I have written a column for the East Anglian Daily Times. I have mislaid the precise start date which was in early April 1990. It has been published every Saturday since then plus a Tuesday column from 31/07/1990 until 08/08/2000. A total of 36 years and 5 months with a total of about 2419 columns and more than a million words.

No challenge to Len(!) but just past Ken Bloodworth whose column (about 1800+ of them) in the Western Morning News and later the Western Daily Press. He took over the Western Morning News chess column in 1963 and wrote it for 35 years, until 1998 (assuming GPT-5.6 Luna's search can be relied on)

Is Adams still there on a Saturday? I haven’t seen it in the epaper (ie not their website) for at least a year - though I don’t check every Saturday. And I think that epaper is a reproduction of the print copy (albeit not as good as others do it).

Tom Sweby wrote a column in various newspapers in Bedfordshire. He started doing it in the 30s but only sporadically. By the 50s he was writing a column for The Luton News/Gazette mostly then by 1967 he had a weekly column in that paper until 1990.
