We have 1 spaces remaining for ENG norm seekers for this event. Seeking FIDE 2160+.

Venue: Hampton by Hilton Sheffield, West Bar Green, Sheffield, S1 2DA.

Time control: 90' + 30"/move.

Round times: 10.30am and 3.30am each day July 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, with Round 9 at 10.30am on July 10th.

Accommodation: We have a block booking for £85/night (£75 for the preceding Sunday night) at the Hampton by Hilton, B&B for up to 2 people, which is roughly 25% cheaper than the best available rate - please email Jonathan if you want accommodation booking.

(Other cheaper options may be available if you wish to book separately, including the Metropolitan Hotel and EasyHotel which are both a 5-10 minute walk from the venue and c.£50/night not including breakfast)

Car parking: Discounted to £5 per 24 hours on a first-come, first served basis. Alternatively, similarly-priced local car parks exist.

Public transport: The venue is a 10-minute walk from Sheffield station, which is on a direct line from London St. Pancras and multiple other cities.

If wanting an invitation: Email Jonathan Arnott at [email protected] or [email protected].

This event is now provisionally full. One player is still to confirm, so any ENG players FIDE 2120+ are still welcome to apply to join the waiting list.

Sam Chow made his 3rd and final IM norm turning 0/2 into 6.5/9. I believe he needs about 20 more rating points for the title.
