Doncaster Congress 2026 February 20-22

After the previous organisers retired following many years of a successful event, we've taken over the running of the 33rd Doncaster Congress for 2026 - albeit with some familiar faces from previous years. February 20th-22nd

• Four sections: Open, U2000, U1800, U1600

• New Venue: XP East School, Doncaster

• Prize fund: £3,200 (£400, £200, £100 & 2 x £50 rating prizes in each section)

• Open section FIDE-rated

Can you please provide information about the facilities, parking, contact info etc. The site points to the chess centre rather than the venue.

Parking should be free on-site.

Players may need to input registration details at Reception (to be confirmed) as one of the car parks is shared with Doncaster Rovers Football Club. We'll put out an email to participants before the event with the specifics. There is a second overflow car park available.

The school is fairly modern, efficient heating/air conditioning (the former being more appropriate in February).

We'll have some food and drink available for sale on site but not full meals (eg. sandwiches, toasties, maybe sausage rolls).

Howard Wood will be running a bookstall.
