Am I right that Howell and Jones would normally have played in this event? I have a vague memory that they played this event in the past, but maybe there are reasons. I think McShane and Adams tend to play less at events like this (but without looking it up, may be making that up).

Am I right that Howell and Jones would normally have played in this event? I have a vague memory that they played this event in the past, but maybe there are reasons. I think McShane and Adams tend to play less at events like this (but without looking it up, may be making that up).

Howell barely plays nowadays apart from the Olympiad/European Team and sometimes the British. Gawain is also playing less for very understandable reasons.

Anyone know what happened there? Looking at the other boards, several are also only showing a limited number of moves. Was there a breakdown in the broadcast of the moves?

I think it has to be issues with multiple, but not all, boards.

That probably means a physical connection failure somewhere - with a bunch of boards connected up in a row, it's easy for an "if one fails, they all fail" situation to develop.
