British Correspondence Chess Society (BCCS)
Anyone know what happened to the British Correspondence Chess Society (BCCS)?
Doesn't seem to exist as far as the Internet goes and can't seem to find out if it was absorbed into an existing association / society.

Perhaps you have to write to them?Ian Harris wrote:Anyone know what happened to the British Correspondence Chess Society (BCCS)?

Yeh, I'm aware of the BCCA. Searched their site, but they don't give much in the way of their history.David Shepherd wrote:Try asking the BCCA http://www.bcca.info
Best I could find on the Internet is an article from 1992, updated in 2000, http://correspondencechess.com/marconi/jjm.htm, that indicates that there was considerable tension between a number of people, the BCCA and the British Chess Federation that led to the formation of the BCCS and the British Postal Chess Federation (BPCF), now the British Federation for Correspondence Chess (BFCC) http://www.bfcc-online.org.uk/

I checked there site and knew it didn't give much away but it has a contact us button so I though maybe if you contacted them they would answer you query.

I seem to remember an opponent in a BCCA game, telling me the BCCF was about to fold (this was at least 2 years ago now) which was why he had jumped ship.
