Sabrina Chevannes and Meri Grigoryan both played in the WIM norm event where their required WIM norm score was 6.5/9. Although Meri won their individual game Sabrina recovered superbly from a 1 out of 4 start when her performance was 1884 by winning four of her last five games to finish with 5/9 performing at 2339 over those five games and finishing with a 2143 performance. Meri, on the other hand, appeared well placed for a norm needing 3.5 from her last five rounds. Sadly she was unable to take the chances that came her way and finished on 4.5/9.
