Counties Chess - Chiltern League

[John Townsend]

I've been informed that the Buckinghamshire A team has withdrawn from the Chiltern League. It seems a pity considering that there are only three other counties in the league. Does anyone know what the issues are?

The previous captain stood down and no-one volunteered or was persuaded to replace him.

Many thanks for your reply, Roger. In Berkshire the responsibility is currently shared, so the captain varies from match to match. I see there is at present a vacancy for the first match. Captains seem harder to appoint than in the past. Perhaps we used to take them for granted.
