Short of a later match between 2 tied players, or another double round APA limited to those in the tie, then yes you are right

I think if he'd played the correct move 105. Rb2 he ends up taking the rook on move 114 so would have had a couple of moves to spare.

It’s quite something that even at this late stage, it’s still possible to make this event an even bigger organisational balls up than it already was. Shame since the chess itself has been pretty good.

It seemed clear to me (as opposed to reasonable, or even fair depending on your viewpoint)

Does make it slightly more complicated for Caruana - Vlad went for it in London, and retrospectively a solid draw would have been enough

They all must be tired, but I can't see Vishy going all out for a win with black to be honest

Has anybody worked out a table for a 7-player APA imagining that Toppy didn’t turn up. Literally didn’t turn up in a hypothetical world, I mean, as opposed to metaphorically as in the real one.

More interesting would be if J'adoubeamura had been thrown out for cheating
