Wei Yi will meet Carlsen at Wijk aan Zee Jan 2016, Ding Liren and Hou Yifan also play as does Mickey Adams

First game between Wei Yi and Carlsen?

It really does seem that Van Wely will have to fall below 2600 in order for his participation to be in doubt!

Not surprising though? It's a Dutch tournament, and there isn't much between the players behind Giri

This year Wijk aan Zee didn't clash with Gibraltar and a couple of players (Wei Yi, in the second section, and Hou Yifan if I recall correctly) played both. In 2016 there will be several days with rounds in both events.
Gibraltar is headed by Anand, Nakamura, MvL, Li Chao, Harikrishna, Wojtaszek, and Yu Yangyi according to the current list of entries. David Howell is next on the list.

Note the time control info from the official website:

100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves. Then 15 minutes for the remaining moves with 30 seconds cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move.

That might be one of the few remaining bastions of the concept of the seven hour plus session. It's been abandoned by the British Championships, the 4NCL and this year Hastings.

Same time control as Gibraltar - and the Candidates is using 40/2 hours, 20/hour then 15 m +30 sec from move 61
