Yeah, moving the bishop is winning as well, but the tactics after 40...Qe5 are nice. I was looking at 41.Rxd7 Rxh3+ but I think it doesn't quite work. This line definitely works though: 40...Qe5 41.Rxd7 Qa1+ 42.Kh2 Rh3+ 43.Kxh3 Qh1# (or 43.gxh3 Qg1#).benedgell wrote:I think Bb5 probably is pretty decent for black as well.
OMG! Williams has allowed the mate!
Did he only look at an immediate 41.Rxd7 Rxh3+ 42.Kg1 when White seems to escape with a perpetual? (41.Rxd7 Rxh3+ 42.Kg1 Qh2+ 43.Kf2 Qg3+ 44.Kg1 Qh2+ etc. - though 43.Kf1 Qh1+ 44.Kf2 Rf3+ 45.gxf3 Qg1# is another nice finish).
