You would have difficulties with the definition. FIDE have raised enormous amounts from governments.

Julian Clissold has just been on Radio 5 Live with Jennifer Neil and Jack Virgin talking notionally about chess in schools

I wondered what that was. I came in right at the end of the interview when the interviewee (JC, I assume) said, "there is a chess olympiad, yes" and that was that.

Which bit of 'steal cars, chase and gun down thieves' do you think is inaccurate? Let alone 'kick/hack to death random pedestrians who happen to be in the way'? Or is it the word 'teach' rather than some other word that you object to?
But I guess I lost the video game battle with my two teenage sons some years ago. So what do I know?
Shouldn't we celebrating the fact that The Times led with chess in an editorial rather than accusing it of 'sanctimonious pomposity'?
