A nice list of congresses, but it misses out the North of England!
MIDDLESBROUGH CONGRESS, 17-19 May, Thistle Hotel, Fry Street, Middlesbrough.
Organiser/Enquiries : Brian Whittaker, 07506181559
It's on the ECF list
(Oh, yes, and I'll be arbiting)

Re: Next chess tournaments in United Kingdom
Never admit you are wrong on here Joan.
You put all that time and effort in and all this lot can do is find fault.
I often wonder why people bother.
The moment they post anything helpful they are open to attack from nit-picking
spelling correctors, grammar toffs and now geography teachers.
You should have said yes Dublin is in the UK. (there is one in Suffolk).
Then knock up a Dublin in Suffolk Chess Congres entry form on WORD.
Paste it on here to prove it such a thing was going to happen and then cancel it due lack of interest.
(that will start a good debate about of lack of interest of Chess in Suffolk.)
Or
You could of said the original title for his thread was:
Next chess tournaments in United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
But that title was too long and the limititations of this forum left out
'....and the Republic of Ireland.' (so Carl is to blame.)
As for not mentioning Tournaments in the North East of England.
It's not your fault if they keep them a secret, how are you meant to know
what is happening in the North East of England if they don't tell you.
