Andrew
Are you saying the world youth championship qualifier results will not be published apart from the bare minimum details available so far? I believe you are listed as one of the three selectors so it seems reasonable to assume that you can access the information.

Greetings from a sodden Hamburg Airport Leonard.
The very best thing you can do is to speak with Peter Purland directly.
Best Wishes, Andrew

Based on my previous experience with him I think I'll pass on that and conclude that the full results of the world youth championship qualifiers are unlikely to be published.

Thanks very much, John, that's most helpful. Is it possible to have the same information for the girls qualifiers?

I will try my best Leonard but have much less to go on. Perhaps a helpful parent could volunteer the information as did Andrew Adair?Leonard Barden wrote:Thanks very much, John, that's most helpful. Is it possible to have the same information for the girls qualifiers?

Re: England U-18 World Championship Trials
This is a bit of a poor show really. Surely the ECF is capable of arranging some decent publicity for what I imagine is one of its flagship junior events? What are the Junior Director and the Marketing Director up to?

Re: England U-18 World Championship Trials
It is very regrettable that Leonard, a senior journalist cannot get the results of our most important junior event. When the results are finally released they have come from an unnamed source, who is presumably unwilling to be named for fear of retribution. Have I woken up in East Germany with the Stasi back in control?

Re: England U-18 World Championship Trials
A new ECF web site is under construction so hopefully that will help quite a bit, however it will still need the people responsible for the results to do their job!Matthew Turner wrote:It is very regrettable that Leonard, a senior journalist cannot get the results of our most important junior event. I now appreciate that my previous comments might have been misinterpretted. We do of course have a fully capitalised banking sector and the best funded health service in the World. There are of course no similarities between England and the old East Germany - I apologise profusely for my previous remarks. All Hail First Citizen Brown.

Results (boys only) are in the latest isuue of Chess moves -as is a report on the Junior Squad to Vilnius.
No sign of either on the ECF website.

He has by far the best junior coach in the UK.
I love sleep, I need 8 hours a day and about 10 at night - Bill Hicks
I would die happy if I beat Wood Green in the Eastman Cup final - Richmond LL captain.

Peter is coached by FM Peter Sowray, so, I am sure you are correct.
