ECF Counties Team Rapidplay 2011

Post by Gavin Strachan » Sat Sep 24, 2011 10:37 pm

The ECF counties team rapidplay occurred today and as events go I found it great fun. It is a shame that this event is not well attended by other counties and it is not even mentioned on the ECF website. What hope does it have. The 30/30 min format is popular with a lot of club chess players and their are several tournaments around the country (perhaps most known in the SCCU region the Golders Green Rapid) that are well attended. Not sure why this specific event is not particularly well advertised even by the national governing body. Shame.

Not actually true - it is at http://www.englishchess.org.uk/?p=13024. One of the problems with the construction of the website as effectively a blog is that unless it occurs to somebody to make a particular item "sticky" it gets rapidly pushed off the home page by more recent postings.

A day or so later I did locate it as well, deep in the bowls of the website
