IM Jan Adamski (1943-2026)

The sad news has been reported that Polish International Master Jan Adamski passed away on 21st May at the age of 82.
Jan was born on 11th November 1943 in Warsaw, Poland. He received the FIDE title of International Master in 1976.
In 1963, he was fourth in the World Under 20 Championship in Vrnjacka Banja. He won the Polish Championship in 1982, and was runner-up five times in 1968, 1969, 1970, 1975 and 1985.
Jan twice won the Polish Rapid Championship in 1975 and 1983.
He also won the Polish team championship nine times.
Jan also played for Poland in many chess Olympiads and for Poland in the 1973 European Team Chess Championship.
He was also a well-known chess coach and teacher of many famous chess players including WGM Agnieszka Brustman.
