Re: Tournament | Congress | Festival Promotion Question
You could stick a message in the forums on lichess or chess.com - they might close your account out of spite but if you get a few extra entrants it would be worth it (and it's easy enough to make a fake account just for this purpose to protect your main one)
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

Definitely Facebook for anything I organise where I'm looking to recruit players rather than inviting them.

Do you use the paid advertising Lawrence, and if so, do you think that it is effective?LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 9:49 pmDefinitely Facebook for anything I organise where I'm looking to recruit players rather than inviting them.

Re: Tournament | Congress | Festival Promotion Question
I played at Cleethorpes yesterday and they got a very good entry for a pretty out of the way place. The organizers sent out a lot of E-mails - I think they took addresses of various county websites etc. A mail to a county team organizer can soon find its way to a network of quite a few players and I think people are very happy to promote a new venture if it just involves a click of a button

Definitely not! I don't know anyone who does but, in my case, reaching "friends" and their friends is sufficient.Jon Hill wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 12:07 amDo you use the paid advertising Lawrence, and if so, do you think that it is effective?LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 9:49 pmDefinitely Facebook for anything I organise where I'm looking to recruit players rather than inviting them.
