Congratulations to Michael Adams who played for OSG Baden-Baden on board 5 and finished on 6.5/7 with a tournament performance of 2863 and the highest score of any player in the event and the fourth highest rating performance. He also won a medal for the highest score on board five.

Their teams consists of: Jan Willem Van de Griendt, Stephen Barrett, Peter Gayson, Paul Townsend, Ihor Lewyk, Richard Archer and Matthew Webb although Jan was only available for the first three rounds. Ironically they finished in 46th place!

Round 1: (19) Utrecht 4.5 White Rose 1.5. Jan Willem defeated Lorin D'Costa on board 1 and Paul drew on board 4 against a 2426.
Round 2: (38) CE De Sprenger Echternach 3.5 White Rose 2.5. Paul & Richard both won and Ihor drew.
Round 3: White Rose 3 GSK Kochani (37) 3 Jan Willem and Matthew both won whilst Steve and Ihor both drew.
Round 4: White Rose 0.5 Jetsmark (35) 5.5 Paul managed the team's solitary half.
Round 5: Cercle d'Echecs de Monte-Carlo 3 White Rose 3 Paul, Ihor and Matthew all won to draw the match.
Round 6: White Rose 2.5 Ennis Chess Club 3.5 Wins for Richard and Matthew and a draw for Paul couldn't stop a defeat at the hands of the Irish.
Round 7: Butrinti 2 White Rose 4 Paul, Ihor and Matthew all won and draws from Steve and Richard gave White Rose their first match victory.
Final scores for White Rose: Jan 2/3, Steve 1/7, Peter 0/7, Paul 4.5/7, Ihor 3/6, Richard 2.5/6, Matthew 4/6.
