Wes So - Hrant Melkumyan (Black to play)

It's a great pity Black nevr took the Rook. One for the 'Unheard Melody' collection. (19...dxe4 20.Qxf7+)

That's naughty Geoff! Leaving us to fill in the rest of the moves until the Black king ends up mated on f3 with Black a queen and a rook and a knight up. Lovely three-piece sacrifice combination.

Rating difference of over 700 points here and it was the underdog who won.

Whoops
As in your last example, the victim (in this case much lower rated to boot) played on for an awfully long time afterwards.

Think McShane could usefully be rested until further notice

Conor Murphy's 6/6 is amazing too.

Noteworthy events elsewhere:

1. India women look likely to win the top-board match against Azerbaijan after the latter's 2390-rated board three contrived to lose* rook and three against rook and four on the same side. (* Well, technically still in progress as I write.)

2. The US open side may win a match against Armenia they really should have lost, not least due to a formidable defensive performance by Shankland, minus six or seven at some point, against Hovhannisyan who apparently had no clear idea how to convert a massive advantage. (That game also still in play and in fact Shankland may just have gone wrong, though Hovhannisyan is really short of time.)

Did I miss something in the So & Dominguez games?

Domínguez won and well, but Ter-Sahakyan was OK for a long time. (There was a glitch in the PGN, incidentally, which means the position shown online may have been unreliable later in the game.)

And David Howell moves to 6.5/7 but McShane and Haria both lose so Brazil win 2.5-1.5

Greece women beating India 2 isn't too shabby.

Her first six games (along with the other perfect scorers) are in a ChessBase article today.

The first one is a bit odd, though - did her underdog opponent lose on time or something?

LaGarde is racking up the points for France too.
