Scott McKay RIP
I am sorry to report the death of Scott McKay at the age of 41.
He suffered severe head injuries in an attack on a street in east Hull on the night of 6th July 2019. He died in hospital nine days later, from his injuries on the 15th July.
Since then two males have been jailed for life for his murder.
Scott was part of the The Willows Social Club Chess Club for over 20 years and played chess right up until his death.
The Willows Chess Club play in the Hull & District Chess Association League.
There are reports about it in Hull Live dated 1st August 2019 and 5th January 2020 as well as other local and national media outlets.

Have looked up those reports, what a tragic and senseless waste it was.

Simon, you have reported, as you call it, the death - from eighteen months ago. Anyone who knew Scott in the chess community and who didn't already know, now knows, if they follow the forum. Why is it necessary to provide links to further details of this horrific incident. That is not necessary.

Because in Chess life returning to normal :John Moore wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 6:36 pmSimon, you have reported, as you call it, the death - from eighteen months ago. Paul Jackson asked me about the court proceedings and Tim Spanton said it was ok to post in the public domain.
When I first mentioned about it in Chess Life another poster suggested that I posted this death along with the suicides.

I have and I say again. I was asked about the court proceedings and the latest links now provides it.
I knew it was a mistake to post the death. But was persuaded to post it by a couple of forum members.

Simon, please don't get stressed. You reported the death and that's fine. Paul in another thread simply said "What court proceedings". That's where I think that you should have left well alone, particularly in a case as sensitive as this. But really don't fuss.

Fair enough. But it seems everything I post, I get criticism. I thought people would be grateful that I have reported these Deaths. One person even moaned about the reason of death not being reported in certain Topics.John Moore wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 8:32 pmSimon, please don't get stressed. Then the two extremes collaborate and call me morbid.

I'd agree. You do a useful job informing of deaths which likely would otherwise go unreported.John Moore wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 8:32 pmSimon, please don't get stressed.
