Not unless there was more than one event with the same name. I played in a Battle of Britain tournament in 1979.

Do we know roughly what the time of the year of the final was?
That makes scanning BCMs and CHESS a little easier looking for reports.

I think the idea was to hold it around the time of Battle of Britain Day so that's mid September.John Upham wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:48 pmDo we know roughly what the time of the year of the final was?
Probably in the early 1970s, they should have modernised the format and held a monster Swiss at the nearest weekend to September 15th.

Presumably the early rounds were played in a similar way to the BCQC in that player's private residences were used.Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:56 pmI think the idea was to hold it around the time of Battle of Britain Day so that's mid September.John Upham wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 5:48 pmDo we know roughly what the time of the year of the final was?
