Michael Grattage

I am sorry to report that Michael Grattage has died aged 70.
He passed away on the 21st October after fighting pancreatic cancer for more than a year.
It was announced in the Isle of Wight County Press on the 27th November.
Michael attended various chess clubs on the Isle of Wight with his children from 2007.
Michael bought the Lake Post Office, Sandown in 2001 and sold the Post Office part in 2016.
He hosted the Lake Chess Club, Sandown in his shop.

I'm sorry to hear this news. I played Michael Grattage at the Harrogate 4NCL a few years ago and he seemed a very pleasant man.
