But I realized that I need to open something I opened the link and it was visible the blue screen the board was not visible.

Disturbing players while games are in progress is clearly unacceptable.

It doesn't exactly speak of a rigorous and professional approach.

What is the logic behind hosting an event like this on a platform with a live rating system? Are there any regulations which insist that entrants have to have played X number of games before allowing them to enter a rating limited section? That their rating should never have exceeded X?

Not clear what else could have been done - the grades we have are FIDE grades. Last time I looked, I think >800 in my section (<2000) so I guess ~4000 players in total. The IM mentioned has just joined with a freakishly low rapid grade

A fide standard play rating cap is a simple solution. As it is the sections are meaningless

What is the logic behind hosting an event like this on a platform with a live rating system?

Eligibility to play is determined by FIDE rapidplay rating so chess.com ratings are irrelevant. As we've seen at OTB events (e.g. London Classic rapidplays) there are players with very high standard FIDE ratings and very low rapidplay FIDE ratings.

If an IM, a GM or someone FIDE rated over 2300 were to win one of the rating limited sections they wouldn't be eligible to take up the first prize. I don't think the rules cover that possibility. Is the prize given to the winner regardless of rating, to the highest placed currently eligible player, or what?
