e2e4 Brighton International takes place 16-20 February 2013.

The Masters is a 9 round swiss that will offer players the opportunity to play exclusively stronger players and achieve GM & IM norms. The Masters is strictly open only to players rated 2050 or above (or graded over 180), titled players, and those who have qualified via a previous International Challengers section. e2e4 will invite at least 3 GMs to play, with at least 1 extra GM for every 10 paying players to ensure that GM and IM norms are possible.

The Challengers is also a 9 round FIDE rated swiss open to untitled players rated over 1900, or graded above 150 ECF. For every 10 players entered, we will offer a qualifying place for a future Masters event free of charge.

The Major is open to all players rated below 2000 (or graded below 170 ECF) who want to play 9 competitive FIDE rated games of chess in a friendly atmosphere with the opportunity to gain those all important rating points or obtain their first ever FIDE rating.

Players entered will be split into sections of approximately 16-20 players according to playing strength to ensure that everyone gets competitive games.

Full details are here, and online entry is availble here.

No need for telepathy just need a server and those clever chess boards then we could watch the chess action live. :D
I am hoping Jude or Ezra can get a norm but of course it will be very tough to do this fingers crossed.

Yes, Carl, if only... We've probably all seen or heard of the Sorcerer's Apprentice - hardware that has a life of its own (plus software that has a mind of its own).

Ravi did well to beat Jack Rudd yesterday.
It would have been nice to have been able to watch the games from this event my view is that all chess international in UK should be shown live and the ECF should help if its a matter of funds to enable the organizers to do this.

Time to go sit in garden and enjoy the sun its a beautiful day.

I had fresh pink grapefruit juice and pork loin sandwich with cherry tomatoes at lunch :D

Hopefully Ravi/ Ezra/ Jude can win in round 7. I see William won this morning :D Still 2 more rounds after this to go as some one once said to me a point in the last rounds is the same as one on the first round.I remember Ezra and his brother when they where very young at an under 8 event in London and spent some time talking to his dad about chess ECF education very interesting it was and he told me then he was thinking of going to France i am sure he said the education system was better in France. Any way i am very pleased to see that they back in England.

At the moment i am trying to work out what was the exact time the German army invaded the Soviet union according to Molotov(Soviet Foreign Minister) it was on 22 June 1941 at 4 am i have come across other sources giving a different time so i need to look into this matter in more detail.

Tonight we having roast lamb with all the trimming Carol does wonderful Yorkshire pudding but before that i shall have a large gin and tonic at 6 pm :D :D
