Coloured stripes on the main page
In Ubuntu 11.04, with Firefox 5.0, I get various colours on this page of the forum. Every other page is fine. The top is dark, then there are three blue stripes, followed by a purple stripe and a green stripe. It's not an issue with my monitor, because the pattern moves in line with the page. Is this supposed to be there?

Just checked here: no such problem. But Ubuntu is running in a virtual machine, so that may make a difference.

I've checked with Lynx and cannot reproduce the stripe effect problem.
Not bothered to try with Interweb Exploiter.

This should cure your problem.Alex Holowczak wrote:In Ubuntu 11.04, with Firefox 5.0, I get various colours on this page of the forum. Every other page is fine. Well, I don't have the problem with Google Chrome, so I think it's just a Firefox failure. Given Firefox tells me I need to install Flash, despite it already being installed, I'm willing to believe it's just Firefox being rubbish. And not a problem with Ubuntu at all.Sean Hewitt wrote:This should cure your problem.Alex Holowczak wrote:In Ubuntu 11.04, with Firefox 5.0, I get various colours on this page of the forum. Try clearing your cache as it's fine here in Firefox 5 although Chromium 13 is far quicker of courseAlex Holowczak wrote:In Ubuntu 11.04, with Firefox 5.0, I get various colours on this page of the forum. Fine with Firefox 6 under XP, Vista or openSUSE. Its even fine with Firefox 6 running under KDE for Windows! If all else fails try upgrading to IE4 under Windows 95.

It works fine in Firefox 5.0 for Windows XP. I think it's just the Ubuntu/Firefox combination not working.

I'm tempted to reinstall HotHJava for the ZX Spectrum for old times sake...Paul McKeown wrote: If all else fails try upgrading to IE4 under Windows 95.
