Take a game that's written in pgn format and then put it between {pgn}{/pgn} tags (using square brackets instead of curly).
So for example, this:
[Event "Friendly Game"]
[Site "Yeovil"]
[Round "."]
[Date "1992.??.??"]
[White "Rudd, Jack"]
[Black "Chessmaster 2100"]
[Result "1-0"]
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Qf6 3.Nc3 c6 4.d4 exd4 5.Bg5 Qg6 6.Qxd4 d5 7.O-O-O h6 8.Bd2 dxe4 9.Qd8+ Kxd8 10.Bg5+ Kc7 11.Bd8#
Will, if put between pgn tags, give this:

Maybe just me, but as an occasional poster who can never quite remember, I find a post with a game in it like Jack's, click Quote, copy the game bit into my own post, and change all the names, dates and moves to mine.

There is a 'pgn' button on the input screen which puts the pgn tags in for you.

For diagrams, play through the game to the required position. Click the b8 square. This opens a separate window containing the FEN string. Copy it back into your posting and put pos tags around it.Reg Clucas wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:15 pmThere is a 'pgn' button on the input screen which puts the pgn tags in for you.

I'm sure that game reminds me of an old classic. By Reti, perhaps.

I had the Reti game in mind when I played 8.Bd2, yes. Chessmaster 2100 wasn't always all that good at spotting mates in three.
