Is there any issue with using BB Code in a (new) User’s Signature?

I may be raising a possible issue with this Post that’s already been discussed on ECF by now, but here goes:

Today I’ve tried using BB Code to put some colourization (red, to make sure of trying to use a common colour that would be requested online) to the characters of most of what is currently my User ‘Signature’, and have had no success in getting my Signature to be in any way colourized, so far.

I’m fairly new on this ECF Board, I’d better mention. I did read what I thought were the appropriate sections of the FAQ for ECF, and I soon saw that BB Code is to be used (instead of HTML ever being used) on this message board (such as for a User’s Signature, I thus assumed).

However, after that I had a setback in trying to follow what the FAQ directed me to do. I did not manage to locate the ‘Guide’ for any further help re: BB Code as it’s to be used on ECF, since I couldn’t understand with certainty what is meant by the Posting Page, which is where the FAQ says to first go to, in order to see the ‘Guide’.

In any case, since then I’ve looked today at a few other ECF Users’ Posts made in various ECF Forums, on various calendar dates (and at various times of such days, as an unintended result), and of those Posts that I looked through, the Users who had chosen to have a Signature (i.e. at the end of their Posts on ECF) each did not have any colourization of any part of their signatures (it could be due to their all willingly not wishing to do so, but I thought my ‘research result’ to be odd, all the same).

I have also looked today at a Google search AI answer for how to colourize text with BB Codes. There were some ways (a relatively small number) the AI give for how such colourization by BB Codes of text is to be done online (meaning in most/all online social Forums as well I’d suppose) and I think I tried all of those ways today to try to get my ECF User signature to have some (red) colourization to a lot of the characters (i.e. in its text) but in ever case no (red) colourization resulted for me, at all.

I’m thus wondering now if any BB Code use for adding colourization to ECF User signatures has been disabled (possibly only for some/all new accounts, which seems unlikely) or if there may be some other ‘issue’ instead.

We have never allowed BBCode in user signatures due to its very distracting appearance and probably never will.
