I see that this is Westminster School's first title in this competition, which dates back to the 1957/58 season when it was sponsored by The Sunday Times:

An interesting report including photos has appeared about the Finals:

As a former organiser of this event, I would like to applaud the introduction of liveboards; I enjoyed following some of the games from afar!

Congratulations indeed! They are just down the road from Pimlico Chess Club, home of the Central London Chess League. Hoping for a long and fruitful alliance.

The final entry for this year's competition was a very healthy 250 teams from 147 schools. The number of state schools entering was greater than the number of independent schools, and the largest increase was in the number of schools who are not academically selective.

This year the event therefore has 21 regions and the full pairings can be seen at https://www.englishchess.org.uk/NSCC/u1 ... l-2022-23/

Congratulations to Hampton School, ECF Under 19 National Schools Champions, winning four matches and drawing with last year's winners, Westminster School, in round 5:

This is Hampton School's second title; the first was in 2002:

Congratulations too to Wilson's School, which collected the Richard Haddrell Memorial Trophy as runners-up and to Queen Elizabeth's School Barnet which won the Plate (for the highest-placed round 1 loser) - both finished second-equal, but were separated by tie-break.
