British Junior Champions 2021

Post by Wadih Khoury » Mon Oct 04, 2021 2:20 pm

I don't think there has been a topic on this, hence congratulations to the British Junior Champions (standard, OtB) for 2021:
  • U18: Mohammed Ayan Ismail (he is a U16, won the online version and had an exceptional run a the online Championship)
  • U14: Arjun Kolani (he won the online version too)
  • U12: Kenneth Hobson: almost a perfect score in the most competitive age group for the Oxfordshire boy
  • U10: Jan Murawski (another Oxfordshire boy, same J4NCL team)
  • U8: George Zhao (also winner of his online section)
Wishing them many more titles!

Perhaps the most memorable moment came from a player who finished outside the top 3 in the U8 Championship.

Congratulations to all, and (from my perspective) especially to the Oxfordshire players.

I wonder when the last time Oxon had two winners in the same year among the Open junior championships - possibly not since Adam and Harriet were joint winners of the U14 in 1991.
