What's your point, that we should all work together in perfect harmony? If so, how do you explain your public campaign to denigrate and defenestrate a mutual colleague?

I suppose this forum doesn't qualify as a "meeting". Otherwise it seems an obvious place for EJCOA to explain why they are standing and to answer questions. Some of those posting and probably others reading are also Council representatives of chess organisations and thus have influence over a vote or several. We invite all ECF members and chess organisations represented on the ECF Council to support our campaign, and are happy to send a speaker to your meeting (either online or in person) to explain why we are standing and to answer your questions.

Re: Fide trainers Seminar Yusopov, Aagaard Sokolov
Good Evening All
The English Junior Coaches and Organiser's association with the assistance of the World Chess Federation will be running an online Fide Trainers Seminar over the weekend of Fr Sept 3rd to Sun Sep 5th.
The cost of this course is normally around EUR300. However if we have a turn out similar to the ECU 101 course we have arranged a discounted fee of £100 which is an absolute bargain for the course bearing in mind the truly exceptional coaches and players doing the training.

Others possibilities still to confirm are Nigel Short, Sagar Shah, Antoaneta Stepanova,Alex Motylev

Congratulations on the successful training and I'm sorry to have had to miss it. Having said that, it's hard to avoid the impression that you [and Andrew, for that matter] are happy to post here on matters which suit you while declining to do so on matters that don't.RobWillmoth wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 3:55 pmThe fide trainers has finished. But, yet again, while I tend to support Mike Truran on most matters, I'm really not sure that a 'gagging order' was the best approach, not least because it implies that some or all ECF directors and/or managers can't be trusted to operate responsibly. It's also pretty futile because any director/manager wanting to get a point across has only to get a surrogate to post for him/her - something which I'd suggest, without naming names, already happens.

I may have missed something here but are we aware of many persons who post on subjects that do not suit them?Roger Lancaster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 4:30 pmyou [and Andrew, for that matter] are happy to post here on matters which suit you while declining to do so on matters that don't.
A few examples would demonstrate my vast ignorance.

No, I suppose not. I probably should have been more specific and instead said something rather more along the lines of "you [and Andrew, for that matter] are happy to post here on matters which suit you while declining to post when questions are raised where it's a little awkward to answer". It just seems to me a case of both having one's cake and eating it.John Upham wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:33 pmI may have missed something here but are we aware of many persons who post on subjects that do not suit them?Roger Lancaster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 4:30 pmyou [and Andrew, for that matter] are happy to post here on matters which suit you while declining to do so on matters that don't.

Hi Everyone
I would also like to endorse thoughts of what a great training course over the weekend it was and a big thank you for Rob for arranging such a great event . It was impossible not to learn some useful points what ever level you are at in both training and playing .
If ever any one of our members on here ever get the chance to attend this course on zoom in the future you should do so as the topics are discussed by world class masters of chess . if masters who train players that are in the worlds elite eg top 10 want to give us lessons in chess training . its a no brainer to take part .
