HJCA is running the Hampshire Megafinal on Sunday, June 25th and has 197 entries with 3 remaining.
Travelling furthest is eight year old Maxsym Kryshtafor from York / Ukraine with a current standard play rating of 1865A playing in the U9/U10 section.
A total of 81 players entered who did not have a current ECF membership code and all have been invited to join the ECF.
The ECF misses a trick here and they could provide an incentive scheme to encourage new memberships caused by event organisers.
As a habit I always encourage players to become members before the event to avoid the fines from the ECF Office.

81!
That is way more than I would have thought. Good to see that UKCC still brings new players to the chess circuit.

Re: Hampshire Megafinal 2023: June 25th
I'm pleased to announce that the Hampshire Megafinal has filled its provisional entry at two hundred.
We are creating a reserve list to cater for the last minute "Timmy has developed a tummy ache this morning" issues that usually affect at least ten children.
Full entries may be seen at
https://chess-results.com/tnr765597.aspx?lan=1
We hope to have a live board for top board of the U18 section.
