Very sporting as well. I had to play him in 1989 just after breaking and dislocating a finger (at cricket, not chess) and he suggested I could put the clock on the good and wrong side. I duly got wiped out (without blaming the injury). Unfortunately, I have just looked at the game again - oh dear.
