Women's Grand Prix stage 4 postponed

Have we reached the point where everything is cancelled/postponed (or are they still playing chess as well as football in Belarus)?
Any postings on here represent my personal views

Neil G requested that this NOT become a discussion thread, so I shall limit my response to answering Mick's question.

No events have been registered by Belarus beyond the end of March.

Maybe we can now say "everything" and move on?

Until when, though? Looking at a couple I've played in before, the Rhein-Main open (10 - 14 June) say they hope things will be sufficiently back to normal that it can go ahead and Biel (18 - 29 July) say nothing at all either way.

The Grand Chess Tour 2020 has been cancelled, although the St Louis Rapid & Blitz and the Sinquefield Cup may possibly survive.

The European Senior Team Championship (scheduled for Wroclaw, Poland) in late June/July is now marked "postponed" on the European Chess Union Calendar.

The European senior individual championshipss, which should have been on this month in Jastrzebia Gora, Poland, have been rescheduled 16-26 October.
My impression is that this event is somewhat more likely than most other Senior tournaments to happen. Before the virus crisis, John Nunn was hot favourite to win the 65+ championship.

I suspect that the team event will not happen this year.

If anyone wants to have an online version of their congress, with sections and proper swiss pairings with fixed round times, longer time controls, please contact me. All players would ideally have to be on camera throughout.

This is proving a reasonable alternative to having no chess at all!

Due to the Covid 19 virus the Guernsey Chess Federation very much regrets to confirm the cancellation of the 46th Guernsey International Chess Festival. We very much hope that all our chess friends will understand that in making this decision we consider the safety of players to be of paramount importance. We hope to see you again in the future.
