e2e4 Gatwick Congress : 19-21 February 2016

Post by Sean Hewitt » Fri Nov 20, 2015 5:30 pm

I'm delighted to announce that e2e4 are returning - starting with our Gatwick event at The Crowne Plaza Hotel.

We have a weekend congress with 3 FIDE rated sections - the Open and U1950 have £500 first prize each and the U1700 has a special low entry fee of just £22 (£17 if you are staying at the hotel), whilst retaining a substantial first prize of £250.

In our continued efforts to support female chess, entry is free for all women and girls!

If you've played at Crowne Plaza Gatwick you know what a great hotel it is, and you'll understand that we strongly advise you to book as soon as you can.

A late entry fee of £5 will be payable on entries received later than Sunday 14th November 2016.

A correction to that effect has now been made.

That's not what it says on the downloadable entry form - for 2013! :)

"Delighted that e2e4 is back in the home of junior chess - Sussex!!"

Are you trying to discourage people from playing?

In my experience the Sussex juniors are unfailingly well behaved in all respects other than appreciating that they shouldn't be trying to smash up their elders and evidently not betters...

It would be, but sadly they too often succeed, heartless as they are...

"In my experience the Sussex juniors are unfailingly well behaved in all respects other than appreciating that they shouldn't be trying to smash up their elders and evidently not betters..."

I only meant adults don't like playing juniors! So it's the second half of the sentence that applies...
