Glossop Chess Club's first foray into event organising features a five round tournament with Open and U1700 sections on Sat/Sun 19/20 July. This is preceded by a book talk and signing by WIM Natasha Regan and National Instructor Matt Ball (Zwischenzug!) on Friday 18th July.
Please note that initially entries are not being accepted from juniors due to insufficient space to accommodate parents.
On the edge of the beautiful Peak District, with limited numbers but with a guaranteed prize fund of £1600+.

Re: 1st Glossop Chess Weekend 18-20 July 2025
With three weeks to go we now have the High Peak Mayor confirmed for our Opening Ceremony, an IM, WIM and FIDE Master in the Open and a pleasingly wide spread of locations from where players are coming from to play in the tournament.
A Promotion Day was held at the local Tesco which has already garnered new members for our club and there has been a feature in the quarterly High Peak Review.
As well as the five round tournament and book talk / signing we are also holding a couple of Info Sessions where local people can just drop in and find out more about the event, our club and chess in general
