Not for me, unfortunately.
I have absolutely no basis for a complaint and am not making one, but I have enjoyed this event in the past and am 100% English. I do not know why the requirement to be ENG was introduced.

Oops! Was it to avoid the Welsh, Scottish and Irish from invading, rather than those registered with more far-flung federations?

I note the correspondence in the British Championship thread.
It would make eminent sense for the English Seniors and the British Seniors to have different age criteria. As the English is 50+ and 65+, the suggestion that the British should be 55+ and 70+ rather than both tournaments have the self-same limits.

Does anyone know how much the 'preferential rate' is for a room at the venue?

You can email the venue on the address given. They came back very quickly. It varies night by night. It seemed to slightly undercut the booking.com price. You are less than £ 100 per night, but not by very much.Phil Neatherway wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 4:29 pmDoes anyone know how much the 'preferential rate' is for a room at the venue?

Thanks, Roger. It seems expensive!
