The Gwent Chess Association, in collaboration with the WCU, are pleased to announce the revival of the Newport Chess Congress. Some of you may remember the event, which goes back to the 1980s. It was always well attended, often attracting 150+ players from Wales and Southwest England.We have found an excellent venue, the newly refurbished Lysaght Institute, near the old Orb works in East Newport. Just a couple of minutes from the M4 J24 Coldra and J26 Tredegar House, it’s ideally placed for commuters from east or west.
