The Business Centre, South Ribble Borough Council Civic Centre, Leyland. PR25 1DH

It is a 6 round Swiss congress, two rounds each on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. The congress is an ECF Graded event and the Open is FIDE Rated. The FIDE Open Tournament is part of the British Championships Grand Prix event.

All games must be completed in 1 hour 50 minutes plus 10 seconds per move.

The venue is less than 10 mins.from the M6 Exit 28
Refreshments are available
There is free car parking at the rear of the venue

Round 2, board 2 Hepworth Vs Surtees is worth a look. It features an underpromotion to a knight to avoid stalemate. Never seen that in a real game before.

Probably even rarer is promotion to a Rook, which would actually have been the best option here as it forces mate next move.
