Sorry Tim, someone told me your playing in Hastings.
Not heard much from you on the forum recently.
Not had much to say! But I am interested in what others have to say.
Are you playing at the Blackpool Congress in mid-February?
What tournaments have you got coming up?
Czech Tour?
Currently playing in Spain; 4NCL and Marienbad in January; Bad Woerishofen in March; have not booked February yet but am looking at Austria (they know how to party in winter).

I knew it was a mistake telling him that g4 is my favourite move.

I did wonder if the moves after 25...Bxf6 actually took place or if the game ended there.

Perhaps also no surprise that none of the unrated Kazakhstani players turned up either.
The complete list of withdrawals, no shows and elective byes is at

And see you in Kos in May? 13 ENG entries at the moment + one SCO. (EDIT) And no Juniors, it's an adult-only Hotel!

I did thanks Mick, though I picked up a bug during the minus 15 temperatures in Katowice beforehand, derailing my plans of doing Hastings.

Lalic - Hebden looked an unkind pairing in round 3, but it seems to be right. Black players on 11 and 12 swap as Petrov has already played the higher rated of the pair.

Don't know who Mr Waldhausen is, but he does have a 2069 elo rating and he played on today against a 1472 (presumably a kid), until he was mated with Q and K against K. I can't imagine what the reason might be for that.

Don't know who Mr Waldhausen is,
Otherwise known as Freddie Gordon, a Scottish prodigy already playing in the Scotland teams in the European Championship and Olympiad,

His playing record in England
