The non cheap and cheerful one had black a lot better as well at some point. But not as a result of Bxa3 (ie. the advantage came a few moves later once Black was 2 pawns up)

Games from the British plus some of the Major Open, Over 65, Over 50 , some junior events and some first week tournaments were on lichess, chess.com and chess24.

As far as annotations are concerned, you have to make do with the opinions of stockfish.

What's happened to the archiving in a downloadable pgn file of the games played, particularly those on DGT boards? The Championship itself is safely archived at the John Saunders Britbase site, but the rest are elusive, seemingly not at chess-results or with a link at the British Championship site.

Good news! The commentary team has been announced as WIM Natasha Regan and GM Matthew Sadler, with what looks like guest appearances from GM Jon Speelman, WGM Harriet Hunt, Michael Green and FM Jonathan Blackburn. Probably couldn’t afford the popular choice of Lee Bullock and Tim Hilton! The way I’m reading things the commentary could extend beyond the Championship to the top boards in other events.

Commentary will be made available via a wall display in the commentary room for those at the events and also broadcast on the internet via Chess24 and Chess.com

The implication is that the commentators will not be at the venue. Whilst this can improve the technical quality for the benefit of the internet audience it would seem to preclude interaction between the audience at the venue and the commentators as well as the opportunity to get players to talk through their games once they had finished.

The downside of all the coverage is that it makes it easier for support teams to relay moves and ideas to players.

If the commentary ever gets taken over by Tim and Bollock, I mean Bullock, I'll quit chess...

I see the rules for qualification from the Congress circuit have been published.

The qualification year is 1st June 2022 to 31st May 2023 which should enables those qualifying to make decisions about travel and accommodation in reasonable time. What would also be nice, given the complicated nature of the formulae to determine rankings would be a list showing scores and positions.
