No pairings have been published for todays over 50's Championship.
What's going on?
Is there a major problem?
There are no pairings at http://chess-results.com/tnr655611.aspx?lan=1, but pairings can be found at http://chess-results.com/tnr663958.aspx?lan=1, which doesn't link to the other tournaments.

I have come across this kind of administrative mix-up on Chess-Results before, I don't see any evidence of a dispute.

Does anyone know of there is a deal for parking at the Riviera center? I will not be lodging in Torquay itself and will be driving in each day.
£8 per day would sting a bit, but I see on the Riviera website that there are "conference" rates which are much cheaper for the week?

What an amazing week. I don’t remember it being this warm for any previous British. Inside the Riviera Centre the air con is cranked-up to full power and doing a great job keeping us cool. It’s the last round for the rated sections tomorrow - conditions in the balcony are fabulous, but we knew that already. Starting tomorrow evening there are close to 200 entries in the Weekender. What a brilliant turn out - I hope you’re on your way? Downstairs in the over-50s the last game finished at 8.10pm this evening - getting on for six hours! You guessed it - a draw. I overheard some dreadful ageist abuse from a tiny girl on my way to the playing area today, sounding mildly bitter “Daddy why are there so many old people here”? Anyone over thirty was a old person in her eyes. The arbiters are quietly getting on their jobs, the refreshment counter has been busy, while parents celebrate or commiserate with their children who all appear to be having a wonderful time. Staff in the restaurants in the town, and as far afield in Paignton, are reporting their best week of the Summer. Brendan O’Gorman really does have the knack of capturing chess emotions in his photography. If you haven’t seem them already check out the excellent pictures of Chris Fegan and Stewart Reuben. Brendan has been snapping away in the balcony today, so expect another batch shortly. What a fantastic thing chess is - come and play!

Does that mean people need to wear sweaters
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

I carry a very lightweight cardie in my bag just in case, but haven’t had to put it on. Depends on whether you have matching socks? Wouldn’t want to look silly!

Decisive games today in the junior tournaments. Quite a few upsets over the first 6 rounds.

Looks like some drama has unfolded in the U16 British Championship, with a leader seemingly being forfeited mid-game in the final round and having all their 7 results taken away. Some historical online form there as well I believe. The net result I think being potentially the first female joint winner of the Under 16's since 1993 (Ruth Sheldon that year) is shuffled into joint 2nd. Gawd knows what drama has gone on?

I recall a similar case at a 4NCL congress when a player was disqualified at a late stage. I think that that was shortly before the pandemic.

My memory may be failing me, but I think that on that occasion the opponents of the subsequently disqualified player were not given a point for their games against that player.

Is that correct? If so, can anyone explain the difference in treatment on this occasion?

edit : One side effect is that some players who have shown extreme levels of improvement during their absence from OTB play may well find themselves accused of cheating.
... and some of them probably will be.

One of my fears is that players who have developed methods of cheating online will transfer their new skills to OTB as that restarts.

This was the previous tournament - no points given, even for the mid game player in round 8. Very similar to the U16’s turn of events potentially. I don’t think the 2018 player ever played another rated game.

Could be as simple as a genuine clerical error, is the player concerned under16.

A clerical error wouldn't have the results blanked, though - we'd grade and rate the games as normal.

Yes, he is, unless his DoB is wrong on the FIDE database.

He'd be over 16 years old and awaiting his GCSE results I'd imagine. I don't think it's a clerical error - he got 8 moves into his final round game and SOMETHING happened.
