It is hoped that it will be possible to run the Scarborough Congress this year on the weekend of 29-31 October.
The Centre is planning to re-open from July so the Spa Centre itself should be available by the planned dates.
There is obviously still doubt about what the Covid situation will be then, so players may wish to exercise caution with regard to booking accommodation.
Entry forms are normally available at around this time. However, we do not intend to distribute entry forms until there is a bit more certainty about the numbers that will be able to take part.
Good news.
I can see accommodation in Scarborough being quite pricy though.
Also events in nearby Whitby.

Thanks Paul - that looks really interesting! Having said that, I must confess that I've always wanted to play the Scarborough tournament, but it always clashes with something else.

It's around the same time as Guernsey. Any news on plans for that?

That's the one that clashes! Last I heard, they were cautiously awaiting news, but I haven't had any contact with organizers there for some time.

Come to sunny Scarborough Kevin. Not as sunny as Blackpool though.

Scarborough has the big advantage of being in Yorkshire.

In 2019 the Major was U171 so I expected that to convert to about U1975 or U1980 if the new ECF ratings are being used.
The entry form shows U1851. That's 153.
A mistake? Or am I missing something?

It will be run with the advertised figures. Entry forms have been printed. When asked to produce the entry form I was given those figures and did not think to query them. There were going to be changes anyway. 2022 may see 6 sections or revised figures used.
It is still unclear what the capacity of the hall will be and what entry will be accepted. For this reason the prize money was cut (but may be revised when the entry is known).

The online entry form says "please do not use yet". Does this mean they are now taking entries by post only?

Online entries should be an option by tomorrow.
Some site reconstruction work was needed. Only the PayPal part needs to be checked before going 'live'.

Thanks for letting us know, Alex. However, I checked on two browsers and both told me the site is not secure and that I shouldn't enter sensitive information.

I'm not getting any warning.
Is there any secure info to worry about being sent?
The Paypal link should be secure.
