I think Ireland is asking visitors to quarantine for 14 days
Are we doing that to them or are they getting their retaliation in first?

The pub I've frequented most often in the last twenty years hasn't re-opened as it draws a significant proportion of revenue from being a live music venue. This makes visits to the pub a bit of an unknown quantity in terms of decent beer and company. And whilst government policy may be driving some of us to drink, Rishi certainly isn't paying my bar bills.

I rang Tony Corfe who runs Fareham Congress and other Castle Chess tournaments this morning and he has informed me that Fareham Congress is going ahead.
However Dudley Congress scheduled for 16th to 18th October has been cancelled.
There are no more Castle Chess tournaments planned for the rest of 2020 after that.

BBC News:

The Czech Republic has seen a record numbers of new Covid-19 cases for the third day in a row. Thursday's tally of 680 took the number of infections to nearly 26,500 with 426 deaths.

Radio Prague says the country has the highest rate of infections of all its neighbours. But officials say the low number of people needing hospital treatment shows that facilities are not in danger of being overwhelmed.

However, the virus is impacting all aspects of Czech life. The chief public health officer has tested positive for the virus and a number of ministers, including the health minister, are self-isolating. Sports events have been cancelled because team members have tested positive, and schools are under threat of closure having just reopened.

Face masks will be mandatory again in all shops and shopping centres in the capital, Prague, from Wednesday. People across the country already have to wear the coverings in public spaces and on public transport. Bars and clubs in Prague will also have to close between midnight and 06:00.

If it proves impossible to attend the Czech Open there's a tournament in Munich which starts a few days later. I can't find any information on coronavirus precautions, but it does still appear to be going ahead. The list of entrants was updated earlier this week.

I should clarify that I only pass on adverts for information purposes - I can bear no responsibility for public safety either at the venue, or travel to and from the venue...

I'm with Kevin.
I'm the same as regards to posting information of Congresses coming up.
Me and Kevin go out of our way spending a lot of our own time and expense visiting various websites gathering information about Congresses coming up. Nationally and Internationally.
Not for our benefit but for other forum members.

Apologies that my last post sounded a bit self- righteous.
It wasn't intended that way.
As mentioned in other threads, I can only post from my phone and I browse the internet from my phone only which takes me above my data allownce which is why it costs me a lot of money.
Regrettably the next a few days I need to post 5 Deaths and Obituaries
All the organisers for tournaments whether online, OTB, or 4NCL need our support.
For example through advertising.

Can I say that the Northumberland congress merits your support and is keen to see a full house (reduced to 120 players this year due to the carona Virus factors -- see separate thread (below) for details. This includes a piece on the requirements for the Carona virus which might be helpful to others thinking of running a congress . Click on the website address for the entry form details and then click on the highlighted section regarding the Carona virus features/ considerations.
Note that the Northumberland event takes place on the w/e of 25th /27th September so its only 3 weeks away and, as of today, there are 43 entries declared and they`d like to fill the remaining 80 or so, slots. Please pass this on to fellow players who might be interested.

Kevin was joking.
He was joking in response to my joke.
He did not go out of his way spending a lot of his own time and expense visiting various websites gathering information about congresses coming up - he was sent an email by CzechTour.
