Still no round times though. With double round days, the timing of the morning start time could make a difference particular to those players intending to travel some distance to reach Hastings.

I don't see a statement of the move rates either. Will they be 90 minutes with 30 second increments in the Masters? Again this can affect a decision to enter.
Presumably covered by "Prizes, entry fees, rating bands and other details to be announced soon …" but clearly vital information for a player before committing to a tournament.
Evidently not that vital as over 80 players have now entered the Masters without this information being published.
Possibly useful would have been a better description but good to see so many entries regardless.

It may not be vital information to everyone, but I'd like to enter the Weekend Congress, and I'm not going to do that without knowing the time control or round start times.

Thanks for confirming that, but we're less than a fortnight away from the event starting and this key information doesn't appear on the event's own website.

It's now there.

Looking at the entry list at https://hastingschess.com/entrants-3/ , are Norm seekers going to be frustrated by the length of the tail?

The Masters will be accelerated.

I'm told there are other (titled) entries to be added.

It's here as well, in an easier to read format. I've no idea whether or not the chess-results player list is the same as the congress website player list. The chess-results player list indicates that the dividing line between top and bottom half of the draw will be at a rating of about 2000.

And the dividing line between the first and second quarters, relevant in view of the mention of acceleration, will be around 2270.

I guess participants will be excited at the opportunity to use the extra spare time available to fully explore the delights of Hastings in winter this year!

"I guess participants will be excited at the opportunity to use the extra spare time available to fully explore the delights of Hastings in winter this year!"

Richard brings back happy memories of the penultimate time I played at Hastings. One day a friend and I visited the pier at lunchtime and went indoors to the slot machine area in the mistaken belief it would be warmer than outside, and that there would be no rain. Just before the afternoon round started, the organizers announced that next year's tournament would be held on the pier. I thought I must have misheard, but looked across the room and spotted my friend. Apparently, our looks of horror were similar. Later, we approached the guy who made the announcement and suggested it wasn't a great idea. He airily dismissed our concerns. Next year I sat in my warm home and read all the outraged reports about how disastrous it was.

Luckily, they didn't repeat the experiment. A Dutch friend cautioned against playing at Wijk Aan Zee as he thought the area surrounding the tournament was worse than Hastings. I think there was a year at the Queens Hotel, Hastings, where the Premier players cut up the Christmas Tree in the lobby on 12th night and burnt it in the grate to keep warm.

But you go to Hastings for the history, a bit of cold weather outside shouldn't stop your enjoyment!

Haowen Xue appears to have good chances of a GM norm. No other obvious candidates.
