ECF Pay to play fee
Players who are not Gold members of the English Chess Federation (ECF) pay an additional £16.00 (£6.50 for juniors if a date of birth is provided). This is passed on, in full, to the ECF (the club does not take any money from this).
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
Entries received after 25th June 2026, if accepted, will require £5 late entry fee. Entries on the day incur a £10 fee.
No player may win more than one prize, except where two prizes are shared by players in the same scoring group.
Email addresses may be stored on a computer for sending out future congress entry forms and players' grades will appear on the ECF web site.
Players without a current grading must indicate on the entry form their best previous results or any rating ever held, online or over-the-board.
All mobile phones/smart devices must be turned off and not on your person during play, except where there is a medical reason.
Grading
The June Rapidplay grades will be used where available; otherwise, long play grades will be used. Ungraded players will be assigned an estimate by the Controller. All results will be submitted to the ECF for their Rapidplay grading list.
Clocks
Digital clocks will be used in all sections with a time limit of 20 minutes plus 5 seconds per move increment. The default time will be 10 minutes after the published start time.

Sections
Sections are dependent on entry and the organisers reserve the right to merge sections. Entry is restricted to 80 players
Refreshments
Tea, Coffee and sandwiches will be available to purchase. There are no cooked food facilities on site and the nearest places to obtain food are a reasonable distance so we recommend that you bring food with you.
Byes
Players may request a half point bye in the 1st round only with their entry.

By Road
The centre is approximately 2 miles from J23 on the M60 and is 1 mile from the centre of Ashton. There is ample free car parking.
