I see he uses the Stean - Browne game from the 1974 Olympiad. I think of the opening of that, or rather the start of the middlegame when Stean sacrifices on e6 as being preparation. Stean had after all written a book on the Najdorf in that era.

I wonder whether he also featured the Basman - Stean game from a Hastings of that period. That's the one that started 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. Be2 Nf6 4. c3 . Perhaps it's not irrational but only logical by a Basman frame of reference.

No sign at all of Basman in there, perhaps unexpectedly.

The review seems to say that it's much the same stylistically as his normal output, yes.
