The Oval is sufficient I think. In this case be more traditional.
But we may want to know if the location is Kennington or Kensington.

Sponsors are important.
But not so much that we need to have them determine our everyday language, and nor in fact do they particularly seek to do so

Does your team still play at the Kassam?

It does, and I have never once referred to it as that.

(In so far as the comparison has any value, which given that the stadium didn't exist physically and in language for over a century before having a sponsor's name tacked on to it, is not very much. Not very much at all.)

My point was that stadium naming rights are lucrative and teams do encourage their adoption. It is an acknowledgement of The Oval's historic status that it is currently the KIA Oval and not just the KIA stadium. Most of us not so lucky.

Wycombe Wanderers play at Adams Park, named in honour of the player and benefactor who had purchased the previous ground Loakes Park for the club. In the early part of this century the club agreed a re-naming with a local IT firm for three seasons. It wasn't a popular decision and hasn't been repeated.

I enjoy baiting Justin. But asking him to support Wycombe seems a bit much.

Well we do have a ground with four sides and are at the same level as Oxford having played in the second tier more recently. I think Oxford probably need him more.
