This year's organisers may well run it next year as well. Participants were asked whether they approved of the format, the time of year, the hotel and even Solihull itself.

I dare not ask what the answer was to the last question. Well done Roger, Paul and Kevin. I guess Paul's victory was not that unexpected. Kevin was a team mate at the European Seniors a few years ago and I thought he was underrated then.

Over 50 and a bit more Keith,it doesn't seem that long since the British Championships of the eighties filled with space invaders and pitch&putt! Enjoying my chess more than ever it's just a pity I'm not getting a bit better at it.
